Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Set to Arrive Earlier than Anticipated

Recent rumors suggesting an early release for the Galaxy S24 by Samsung have been confirmed by a new report from South Korea. The company intends to unveil its next-generation flagship smartphone series in January 2024, a move aimed at compensating for the underperformance of its semiconductor chip division.
Galaxy S24 Release Date: January 17, 2024
According to a report from SBS Biz, Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy S24 on January 17, 2024, in San Francisco, USA. The company has already put its plans for the launch event into motion. Furthermore, the report discloses that the Galaxy S23 FE will make its debut in South Korea on December 1, 2023, sporting a price tag of KRW 800,000 (approximately $600). Notably, this marks three years since the release of a Fan Edition Galaxy S series smartphone in South Korea. Although South Korean consumers typically gravitate towards high-end phones, Samsung has opted to release the Galaxy S23 FE as a budget-friendly option, responding to the ongoing economic downturn and the lethargic market.
Galaxy S24: A Beacon of Hope for Samsung
Amid challenging times, Samsung appears to be pinning its hopes on the Galaxy S24 series. The report suggests that the Galaxy S24 will be dubbed an ‘AI Phone,’ featuring Generative AI akin to ChatGPT and Dall-E. Notably, Samsung has already introduced its proprietary Exynos 2400 processor, boasting a 30% faster GPU, a 70% faster GPU, and an NPU with a speed 14.7 times greater than previous iterations. This processor enables on-device AI processing, facilitating Generative AI capabilities like text-to-image conversion. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to include a titanium frame, aligning it with the new iPhone 15 Pro series. Across all devices, Dynamic AMOLED 2x LTPO screens are anticipated, offering a peak brightness of 2,500 nits.
A Departure from the Usual Timeline
In the past, Samsung typically launched its new Galaxy S series phones at the end of February, with shipments commencing in early March. However, the Galaxy S23 broke this pattern by launching in early February and hitting the market before the month’s end. With the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung is pushing the envelope further, introducing the phones in mid-January 2024 and potentially initiating shipments by the month’s end. This deviation from the usual schedule underscores Samsung’s determination to adapt to current market dynamics and revitalize its standing in the industry.
